Melasma Treatment
Cosmelan & Retinol Peels
Advanced solutions for stubborn pigmentation
Melasma and pigmentation can be among the most difficult skin concerns to treat, but at Mirra Skin, we specialise in advanced, results-driven methods that deliver clarity, confidence, and long-term improvement.
Using two powerful professional approaches, Cosmelan Depigmentation Therapy and Medical-Grade Retinol Peels, we target the root cause of pigmentation at a cellular level to restore brightness, balance, and radiance to the skin.

COSMELAN SERIES
What is Cosmelan?
Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation method designed to treat severe forms of hyperpigmentation such as melasma, sun damage, and uneven tone.
This six-month program works by reducing the appearance of dark spots while regulating melanin production to prevent new pigmentation from forming - delivering both corrective and long-term results.
Is Cosmelan right for you?
Cosmelan is ideal for those experiencing:
-
Melasma and hormonal pigmentation
-
Severe sun damage or uneven skin tone
-
Stubborn or recurrent dark spots
-
Pigmentation resistant to other treatments
Acclaimed worldwide, Cosmelan is considered the gold-standard treatment for deep and persistent pigmentation, particularly suitable for darker skin types or complex cases where traditional peels and lasers may not be recommended.
— WHAT TO EXPECT —
Your Cosmelan journey begins in-clinic, where a professional mask is applied and worn for 8–12 hours before being removed at home. Forty-eight hours later, you’ll begin your prescribed homecare routine, continuing for approximately seven months to ensure gradual, consistent lightening and maintenance.
1
Before Treatment:
A consultation is required to assess your skin and ensure suitability.
2
During Treatment:
The Cosmelan mask is applied in-clinic and removed at home after 8–12 hours.
3
After Treatment:
Homecare products commence 48 hours later and continue for several months to maximise and maintain results.

RETINOL PEELS
What is a Retinol Peel?
Retinol, a potent derivative of Vitamin A, is one of the most clinically proven ingredients in dermatology. Its small molecular size allows it to penetrate deeply into the skin, accelerating cell turnover, stimulating collagen production, and resurfacing dull or damaged skin.
A Retinol Peel helps reveal fresher, clearer skin beneath, reducing pigmentation, improving texture, and restoring radiance.
What can we treat?
At Mirra Skin, we use medical-grade Retinol Peels (0.5–1%) to effectively target:
-
Melasma and sun damage
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Textured or rough skin
-
Dull, flaky, or congested complexions
-
General rejuvenation and maintenance
— PRE & POST CARE —
1
Preparation:
Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and sun exposure for one week prior.
2
During Treatment:
The peel is applied to clean skin and left on for eight hours.
3
After Treatment:
Mild redness and peeling may occur for 3–7 days as old skin sheds and new, brighter skin emerges. Avoid makeup and sun exposure during this period and protect the skin with SPF daily.

Both the Cosmelan Series and Retinol Peels offer powerful results for pigmentation, but differ in intensity, downtime, and maintenance.
During your consultation, our dermal therapists will assess your skin type, pigmentation depth, and goals to design a personalised plan that delivers the best outcome for you.
